ISLAMABAD: The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended on October 30 witnessed a 0.53% decrease for the lowest income group as compare to the previous week.
According to provisional figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the SPI for the lowest income group stood at 207.28 points against 208.38 in the previous week,. The SPI for the combined income group also decreased 0.44% from 215.86 points in the previous week to 214.90 in the week under review. In comparison with the corresponding week of last year, the SPI for the combined income group rose 1.95%. During the week, average prices of 8 items in a selected basket of goods fell, prices of 11 items rose and rates of remaining 34 items recorded no change.
