LAHORE: The businessmen related to the textile industry have cast doubt on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s presence in the upcoming textile summit on November 27 that will be organised by the Ministry of Textile.
They said that the textile sector was the most important part of the country’s economy and if this sector was given due facilities, the country’s export could be increased. They said that the premier had been taking action to provide the textile industry uninterrupted power and gas supply. But they doubted that these facilities would be withdrawn, if the government got through the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s November 30 protest.
The Pakistan Textile Summit is bridging the gap between the industry and the policy makers to carve out a workable textile policy for next five years to counter the billions dollars textile policy of the Indian government, they added.
