JAKARTA: The Indonesian economy in 2018 will continue to grow. In particular, exports and investments will show significant improvement.
“So we see exports and investment will continue to provide a good role for economic growth in 2018,” said Governor of Bank Indonesia.
According to him, the last few months have shown that export is rising quite high and the contribution of large capital goods and intermediate goods shows signs or preparations for business expansion in 2018.
“We welcome that, even though we must say the economic recovery of Indonesia since 2015, 2016, 2017 continues to run but not as fast as we want it, so there is a need for acceleration of efforts, we hope in 2018 will be even better,” he added.Political conditions in Indonesia in 2018 will not negatively affect economic growth. Thus, he is optimistic the economy in the next year will be improved even though there would be influences of geopolitics and global sentiment towards America.
“In general we still expect that conditions of improved commodity prices and growth of trading volume in 2017 would continue in 2018,” he added.
