TEHRAN: An Indian launch has been seized while it was trafficking 400,000 liter of diesel from the Iranian port city of Chabahar.
While the coast guard was monitoring the area on Friday, they caught the Indian commercial launch red-handed, said Sistan and Baluchistan border commander Brigadier General Roham-Bakhsh Habibi.
“The launch has trespassed on the region and when caught seven Indian nationals were arrested,” Habibi said.
“We definitely confront any trespassers who violate the law,” he added.
Trespassing the borders and trafficking oil products have some negative social outcomes for the country, so the border guards are pretty decisive in safeguarding all the borders, he stated.
Diesel is heavily subsidized in Iran. It is currently sold at 3,000 rials (about 8 cents) per liter in the country.
