KARACHI: The importers and traders have expressed satisfaction over the recent reshuffling of various Customs officers in Karachi region.
Sharing their views with Customs Today on recent transfers and postings, the importers were of the view that the FBR had posted Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) officers of highest integrity to the Collectorates.
They described the transfers of BPS-18/19 officers at Karachi region, as according to the aspiration of trade representatives, adding that the recent reshuffling of PCS officers would help streamline all trade affairs.
They referred to the transfer of BPS-19 officers like Saeed Akram from the post of Additional Director, Directorate of Training & Research (Customs) Karachi to ADC-MCC Port Muhammad Bin Qasim, Muhammad Yaqoob Mako (PCS/BS-19) from ADC-MCC (Preventive), Karachi to ADC-MCC (Exports), Karachi; Farrukh Sajjad (PCS/BS-19) from Additional Director-Directorate of Reforms & Automation, Karachi to ADC-MCC(Appraisement-West); Muhammad Nayyar Shafiq (PCS/BS-19) on promotion from MCC-Appraisement (West) to ADC-MCC (Appraisement-West), Karachi; Azhar Hussain Merchant (PCS/BS-19) on promotion from Directorate of Reforms & Automation (Customs), Karachi to ADC-MCC Appraisement (West), Karachi, expressing the hope that it would help ease the import/export and trade issue.
Meanwhile, sources informed this scribe that the FBR authorities had taken plight of the importers and traders into account while deciding the recent transfers and postings in the Collectorates.
