HYDERABAD: The Field Intelligence Unit Hyderabad (FIU) has seized 630 bags of detergent powder worth Rs02.4million involving duty/taxes of Rs352747 during an action at the bypass in Hyderabad during the month of June 2017.
The Field Intelligence Unit of Customs Intelligence conducted a raid on a tip-off received through Customs Intelligence of Karachi Director Tahir Qureshi to check the smuggling.
The FIU Hyderabad team, under the supervision of Deputy Director Waqar Haroon Malik comprising Superintendent Qasim Ali Alvi, Intelligence Officers Irfan Ghani, Sepoys Muhammad Imran, Noshad Khan, Sikander Malaha, Azam Ali Chandio, Driver Rao Abdul Sattar, Janib Crob, Hanif Somroo and other staff, intercepted a trailer with registration N0: TLP-384 near bypass Hyderabad and recovered the abovementioned item.
The officials asked the driver to show the legal documents of the customs clearance but he could not do the same. The FIU seized the contraband item. The item was being transported from Peshawar Chaman to Karachi. A case was registered according to the customs bylaws.
After registering a case, the team deposited the confiscated 630 bags of detergent powder into the Hyderabad State Warehouse.
