HYDERABAD: Collectorate of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) seized smuggled items worth Rs 30 million including duty and taxes during the month of October 2018
Sources told Customs Today that after instructions of Collector Khalid Hussain Jamali , the ASO team conducted various anti-smuggling activities in order to save the national exchequer.
The team confiscated different items, including Toyota car, Hino oil tanker , foreign origin 44000 liters HSD High Speed Diesel (HSD) 455 kilograms of betel nuts, foreign origin Baba shoes of different varieties, foreign origin Indian gutka, ceramic tiles old & used tyres Rims, auto parts, spray paint , foreign origin cigarettes, electronics HTV & LTV DTH receivers, digital LNBs dish antennas NB Clips tyres of different brands and sizes polythene bags and other items in different raid.
Sources told that ASO confiscated 540 cartons of Diamond Aerosol Spray Paint, smuggled HTV & LTV tyres of different brand miscellaneous items including polythene bags cigarettes worth Rs385069 and other items Rs2.3 million .
Under the supervision of Hyderabad Customs Headquarters Additional Collector Dr Aamer Nawaz Hamid and deputy Collector Syed Kareem Adil the ASO teams comprising in charge ASO customs preventive Hyderabad Zulfqar Ali Jamali , Inspector engr Haresh Kumar inspector Abdul Majeed Baraich , Inspector Maqbool Ahmed Rind inspector Abid Ahmed khan sepyes and Drivers participated in the operations.
Talking to Customs Today, customs officers said that Hyderabad Customs showed excellent performance with regard to the anti-smuggling during the said period, adding that the collect orate was improving its performance over the time by adopting effective strategies against the smugglers.
