BUDAPEST: Second-quarter sales revenue of Telenor Magyarország fell 3% to HUF 37.6 bln from the same period a year earlier, the firm said yesterday.
Subscriptions for phone services, handset sales and internet subscriber numbers were up, but lower interconnection fees resulted in smaller revenue, Telenor Magyarország said. EBITDA cleared of one-off items fell 17% to HUF 11.9 bln. CAPEX was up 23% at HUF 3.1 bln as Telenor continued to upgrade its network.
Telenor Magyarország paid HUF 3.6 bln of telecommunications tax in Q2 and noted that “some elements of the regulatory framework adversely impacted results.” Telenor Magyarországʼs subscriber numbers were little changed at 3.22m.
