BUDAPEST: Hungarian insurersʼ combined revenue from premiums rose 2% to HUF 247.8 bln in the first quarter of this year as compared to the same period last year, the Hungarian Insurers Association (MABISZ) said on Friday, Hungarian news agency MTI reported.
Revenue from premiums on life insurance policies was down 2.6% at HUF 115.5 bln, while revenue from premiums on general insurance policies rose 6.5% to HUF 132.3 bln. Revenue from premiums on mandatory vehicle insurance grew 14.6% as policy numbers increased 3.9%. Revenue from premiums on comprehensive vehicle insurance rose 6.9% as policy numbers edged up 1%.
This was the first instance in which data from Cardif Életbiztositó Magyarország and Cardif Biztositó Magyarország was incorporated in the dataset, MABISZ noted.
