BUDAPEST: The average gross monthly wage in Hungary was 242,700 in May, representing year-on-year growth of 3.5%, which was slightly slower than the previous month’s year-on-year growth of 3.6%, data released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reveal today.
KSH data suggest that average gross earnings were the highest in financial and insurance sectors, at HUF 499,300, and the lowest in human health and social work sectors, at HUF 145,700. Fostered workers involved in government workfare programs earned HUF 80,300 on average.
Average net monthly earnings – excluding family tax benefits – were HUF 159,000 by national concept, KSH said. In 2015, the rules of family tax benefits changed only slightly, which had no considerable effect on the average index of net earnings, KSH noted, adding that average net income was estimated to be HUF 165,800, taking into account family tax benefits.
