ISLAMABAD: Government is keen to develop Gwadar and several projects are in process of completion to provide modern facilities to the people visiting this area for trade and tourism activities alike.
This was stated by Gwadar Deputy Commissioner M Sajjad. He said that an international standard airport would be functional in near future to facilitate the passengers travelling to this region. He said that Civil Aviation Authority of Oman and the Government of Pakistan are providing financial assistance to complete the airport project to meet future requirements.
He said that planning is being made to establish a cargo system besides airport facility in the area. Deputy Commissioner said that short and long term planning is being made to present Gwadar a best tourism place both for domestic and foreign tourists.
He said that Singhar Housing Project would provide accommodation facility to a large number of families. He said that clean drinking water would also be ensured in this area. He said that several small dam projects would be completed in near future to meet electricity and water requirement of the area. He said that the present government is making all out efforts to expedite the development work in Gwadar so that tourism and trade activities could be promoted in a befitting manner.
