GWADAR: Collectorate of Customs team apprehended huge quantity of smuggled narcotics worth millions of rupees after a successful raid near Jewani.
According to the details, on the tip of higher authority the Deputy Collector of the Customs Collectorate Gwadar Ahsanullah Shah constituted a team of customs officers and staff to conduct a raid over the received information.
The team of Pakistan Customs tightened up the surveillance and strict checking was started near entry and exit points of the Jewani. During the surveillance the staff on suspicion intercepted a suspect vehicle near Jewani check post and inquired the driver for the legal documents.
Complete search of the vehicle was carried during which huge quantity of smuggled narcotics was recovered. The recovered narcotics worth millions of rupees were packed in plastic and were hidden in the drums.
The Deputy Collector Ahsanullah Shah informed that the recovered narcotics “chars” were smuggled to Gwadar through the bordering area of the country and it was being smuggled to other country with the help of locals.
The captured high quality narcotics “chars” weighting one ton worth millions of rupees in the international market, added deputy collector of the Customs Collectorate Gwadar Ahsanullah Shah.
He appreciated the officers and staff of the Collectorate for taking rapid action over the received information of smuggling and said that the Customs Collectorate Gwadar is fully committed in rooting out the menace of smuggling keeping an eagle eye over any movement of smugglers activity through its blanket of informers.
