KARACHI: Customs Collectorate Gwadar has impounded several non-duty paid luxury vehicles and a huge quantity of smuggled Iranian origin high speed diesel during raids in different areas of the province during the last two a months.
According to the details, on the directives of the Collector of Customs Customs Collectorate Gwadar Feroze Alam Junejo, operation against the non-duty paid luxury vehicles is going on in full swing and several raids have been conducted during the last two months. During the raids, the office apprehended 27 non-duty paid vehicles worth more than Rs 45 million.
On the other hand, during the raids last week, the customs officers seized 150,000 liters of smuggled high speed diesel worth Rs 72 million which is said to be the record recovery in a month.
The sources informed Customs Today that during the grand operations the personnel of Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan also participated in the raids to stop smuggling.
The cases have been filed against the culprits and further investigation is underway. The officer of the Model Customs Collectorate Gwadar are also conducting raids on the information of the arrested culprits to apprehend the master minds involved in the heinous crime. The Customs officers have been asked to enhance the surveillance and to keep eagle eye on the culprit’s hideouts to avoid such crimes.
