ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal has met a three-member delegation, headed by European Union Ambassador to Pakistan Wigemark, and told them that the government would achieve over six per cent growth by 2017-18.
The federal minister said that Pakistan’s economy had taken positive turnaround since last one year as the government had taken a number of steps to revive the economy. “Due these steps, all economic indicators are showing positive trends and the national economy was growing gradually,” he claimed.
Pakistan has immense potential and the goal of the government is to achieve over six per cent growth rate by 2017-2018 to turn Pakistan into one of the fastest growing economies in Asia. Education sector is the top priority in development agenda of the government so that youth can become productive members in knowledge economy adding that free media in the country is an opportunity for the government to promote debate on development.
