ISLAMABAD: Karim Aziz Malik, Vice President, FPCCI Capital Office said that the economy was passing through a difficult phase and has called upon the government to focus on creating a conducive environment for business sector that would help in reviving the economy. He said this while exchanging views with a delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry that called on him led by its President Ahmed Hassan Moughal. Rafat Farid Senior Vice President ICCI, Sheikh Amir Waheed, Muhammad Naveed Malik, Muhammad Hussain, Naeem Siddiqui, Abbas Hashmi, Amin Pirzada and others were in the delegation.
Karim Aziz Malik said that business community was key stakeholder in the economic development and government should take it on board while forming business and economic policies. He said that the synergy in the efforts of public and private sectors was essential to put the economy on the path of sustainable growth. He assured that FPCCI in consultation with chambers and association would make efforts to promote the interests of the business community of Pakistan so that private sector could feel facilitated in promoting business activities.
Speaking at the occasion, Ahmed Hassan Moughal, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry said that forex reserves of Pakistan were dwindling due to which pressure was increasing on the local currency. He said that the best way to improve forex reserves was to promote exports. However, he said that the cost of doing business in Pakistan was quite high due to which our exports were facing stiff competition in the international market. He urged that the government should take all possible measures to bring down the cost of doing business that would help in promoting exports and improving the economy.
Rafat Farid, Senior Vice President ICCI and others also spoke at the occasion and stressed that the government should focus on creating environment for business activities in order to strengthen the economy.
