AMMAN: France has agreed to provide Jordan with $265 million soft loan for development projects in water and energy, French diplomats said today.
A total of $67 of the loan will be utilized for water projects, including $43 million in Wadi al Arab water convenience project from Wadi al Arab in Irbid. An additional sum of $55 million will be invested in energy projects to improve electricity power station in south of the kingdom, said French ambassador Carolina Dumas.
The ambassador said the French government has approved the loan and will be channeled to the kingdom coffers in the near future, adding that cooperation with Jordan will be enhanced including projects in the port city of Aqaba.
