KARACHI: The Pakistan-Canada Business Council of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) will be activated to maximum extent to take intensive program of activities during 2014, including Pakistan solo exhibition in Toronto in 2014, a statement issued by FPCCI said.
Zubair Ahmed Malik, President of the FPCCI, said this in a meeting with Zamir Dossal, Chairman of the Pakistan-Canada Business Council, the statement read.
Various proposals and suggestions came under discussion for promotion of bilateral trade and economic relations amongst Pakistan and Canada. Malik proposed that Pakistan-Canada Business Council may hold single country exhibition at Toronto and make joint efforts with its Canadian counterparts to invite Canadian investment in Pakistan, particularly in the fields of alternative energy, development of infrastructure and education.
Briefing about the activities of Pakistan-Canada Business Council in Canada, Dossal said that Pakistani consulate general in Toronto with the cooperation of this business council is organizing a seminar entitled ‘Doing business in Pakistan-sharing experience’ that is scheduled in December in Toronto, the statement said. The purpose of the seminar is to create awareness about the business opportunities existing in Pakistan.
The Pakistan-Canada Business Council chairman said that the Punjab chief minister is likely to lead a trade delegation of businessmen to Canada for interaction with the Canadian investors in June next year.He assured that his business council will give all-out support to the FPCCI in carrying out business activities in Canada.
S M Muneer emphasized on the need to hold Pakistan Single Country Exhibition in Toronto in continuation of the previous two exhibitions held there, which proved successful and significantly contributed in expansion of Pakistan’s exports to Canada.
