WELLINGTON: Four people who allegedly tried to smuggle 11 kilograms of methamphetamine into the country appeared in Manukau District Court on Monday.
They were charged with importing and possessing around 11 kilograms of methamphetamine.
New Zealand Customs Service stopped the individuals, who were allegedly posing as tourists, at Auckland Airport on Sunday.
A search of their suitcases revealed a white crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine.
The two men and two women, in their late twenties to late thirties, have been remanded in custody until their next court appearance in July. Investigations are continuing.
