KARACHI: The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at $13,439.5 million on 23 May 2014. The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as: foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan: $8,649.5 million. Net foreign reserves held by banks: $4,790.0 million. Total liquid foreign reserves: $13,439.5 million. During the week ending 23 May 2014, SBP’s Liquid FX Reserves increased by $330 million to $8,650 million compared to $8,320 million in the previous week. The increase in the Central Bank reserves is primarily attributed to inflows of $410 million from multilateral, bilateral and other official sources which include $375 million received under Coalition Support Fund.
During the week ending May 23, 2014, on account of external debt servicing and other official payments, SBP has made payments of $23 million from its reserves.
