FAISALABAD: The Field Intelligence Unit, Sarai Muhajir, impounded a non-duty-paid Nissan truck. The market value of the smuggled vehicle is Rs4.5million involving customs duties and taxes of Rs5.3million.
Sources told Customs Today that Director Customs Intelligence and Investigations Zulfiqar Younas received a tip-off regarding the above said vehicle. He immediately constituted a raiding team comprising Syed Ittrat Hussain (DD), Salim Ullah, Superintendent, Muhammad Siddique, Muhammad Irshad Ali, Muhammad Saleem, Mansoor Nasir, Intelligence Officer and Sajjad Ahmed Hawaldar.
The raiding team intercepted a Nissan truck with registration No: AAN-772 (Quetta), model 2010, engine capacity 1995-CC. The team asked the driver of the vehicle, identified as Muhammad Ziaur Rehman son of Muhammad Ismail, to produce the legal documents regarding the possession of Nissan truck but he failed to show the same.
So the authorities took the vehicle into possession and registered a case against the accused driver.
