LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested six human traffickers as part of a crackdown on human trafficking in Punjab.
According to an FIA spokesman, on the instructions of Director Usman Anwar, special teams conducted raids in different cities of Punjab and recovered dozens of passports and fake visas from the suspects.
An FIA team reportedly arrested two person named Ali Ahmad and Iftikhar Ahmad from the Green Town area of Lahore for their alleged involvement in the illegal business of human smuggling.
During another raids, the FIA detained Muhammad Arshad from Multan, Muhammad Azim from Sialkot and Azim and his assistant Iftikhar from Gujranwala who were allegedly looting the people on the pretext of sending them abroad.
The FIA has registered cases against the arrested human smugglers for further investigation and prosecution.
