FAISALABAD: Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) President Engineer Suhail Bin Rashid has expressed the hope that 5th All Pakistan Chambers’ Presidents Conference (APCPC) held at GCCI, was a major step towards promotion of unity among the business community across the country.
Bin Rashid pointed out that the cohesion among the business community would not only help the government in policy-making but also reduce genuine reservations of the business community with enhanced interaction.
He said that representatives of 16 leading chambers participated in the conference. He also expressed his support for the restructuring of the Commerce Ministry and Trade Development Authority of Pakistan to revitalize it for achieving economic targets.
Bin Rashid demanded the Federal Board of Revenue to ensure removal of budget anomalies.
The FCCI president emphasized that sales tax registration of small traders should be linked to an annual turnover of Rs20 million. He was also critical of the discrimination between commercial and industrial importers, saying that a uniform tax rate should be applied to both categories.
