MULTAN: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Regional Tax Office (RTO) started crackdown against registered non-filers for collection of due taxes.
Inland Revenue Officer Rab Nawaz told Customs Today that a penalty notice of Rs 20,000 per annum will be issued to those who did not submit the Income tax returns till the due date. Tax notices were also issued them to provide details of their Income tax declaration but heads of public and non-governmental organizations did not take these notices seriously. He said that taxpayers should fulfill their legal obligations by filing their liable Income tax in timely manner.
The Federal Board of Revenue Regional Tax Office Multan Salary Circle Unit 01 Multan Zone has started proceeding against received almost 25,000 registered private schools, lawyers, government and private employee’s .These taxpayers have national tax number (NTN) but they did not submit tax declarations for the tax year 2015 to 2018 so far.
Regional Tax Office Multan has issued tax notices to the public servants and non-government salaried persons under Section 114 (4) Income Tax Ordinance 2001 and informed that the deadline for filing of Income tax returns has been extended up to 31st March and directed them to file their Income tax returns before due date.
