ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) needs Rs 100 billion to meet the provisional quarterly revenue target and most probably it will fail to achieve this target.
The FBR had fixed Rs 557 billion provisional revenue target for the quarter (July-September) of FY 2014-15. However, statistics available with Customs Today revealed that the FBR have collected around Rs 444 billion until September 25.
The statistics showed that the FBR has collected Rs 126 billion income tax, Rs 223 billion sales tax, Rs 23 billion federal excise duty, and Rs 56 billion customs duty.
Moreover, the FBR has collected Rs 140 billion revenue in the month of September so far.
So the FBR is required to collect revenue over Rs 100 billion in the coming next five days to meet the provisional quarterly target.
