ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued a final show-cause notice to Additional Commissioner Inland Revenue (IR) RTO Karachi Muhammad Mustafa Kamal on corruption charges.
According to the final show-cause notice, Muhammad Mustafa Kamal (IRS/ BS 18), during his posting as Additional Commissioner IR Karachi, committed the acts of omission and commission constituting “inefficiency, misconduct and corruption”.
The show-cause notice added that an inquiry committee comprising Lubna Farrukh Mirza (IRS BS 21), Chief Commissioner IR RTO II, Karachi and Syed Ayaz Mehmood (IRS BS 21), was constituted to conduct inquiry into the allegation. The committee has submitted an inquiry report, mentioning that the officer violated the service rules.
The report adds that on the basis of facts established during the course of inquiry, Secretary Revenue found the officer as guilty of “inefficiency, misconduct and corruption”. Now the officer has been issued the show-cause notice to reply within seven days or the case will be decided ex-parte.
