LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) collected Rs 297 billion against the set target of Rs 230 billion during the period between January and March this year, official sources said.
Sources informed Customs Today that the FBR has achieved its targets of revenue collection till the third quarter of the current fiscal year. It was said that total collection has witnessed about 20 percent growth rate in the nine months. Special privileges have also been reduced which were being enjoyed by the elite class of the country. The reduction has also added sufficient amount of revenue to the treasury.
The official sources explained some reforms in laws of the FBR were also introduced which have helped in raising tax collection. They added that the huge funds have been allocated for infrastructure development projects in the country.
