ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue Chairman Nisar Muhammad Khan today will hear a case of Auditor Tahir Gul, who is facing punishment of freezing of performance allowance and expel from job due to violating rules and regulation, and negligence.
This penalty was recommended by Administration Member Muhammad Majid Qureshi following an inquiry report against the official. The member received various complaints against Tahir Gul on which inquiry was initiated against it and his performance allowance was suspended on the basis of initial report.
Later, the Islamabad RTO sent a detailed report, which declared the official guilty of negligence and misconduct, to the member. Numbers of chances were given to the official to defend the case, but he could not present valid arguments against the imposed charges; therefore, the member announced verdict against him.
However, Tahir Gul filed an application before the FBR chairman seeking mercy in this regard. The chairman after accepting plea for personal hearing of the case has summoned him today at FBR House, besides directing him to bring all evidence to prove his innocence in the case. Now, the chairman will decided about the future of the accused official. It may be mentioned here that the chairman could replace major penalty with minor one.
