ISLAMABAD: Farmers welcomed the federal Budget 2015-16 saying agriculture sector remains a major focus of the federal government despite devolution of much of the operational responsibilities to the provinces.
Talking to APP on Monday, Muhammad Haroon, a small farmer of Rawalpindi said a number of tax incentives have been offered to help agriculture sector.
He said the steps taken by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government for boosting agriculture sector would yield positive results in future.
Abid Hussain, a farmer of Chakwal, said federal government has recently made significant investment in livestock, which sector would bring a revolution in this sector. The interest free loans for setting up new solar tube wells are blessing for small farmers.
He said after installing solar tube well, a farmer using diesel engine for five hours a day will save Rs. 1660 per day.
Muhammad Saleem, Leyyah said government’s steps for agriculture sector would boost it and poor families will earn better income through this sector.
He urged the government to give further incentive to small farmers and further relief to farmers would help them to work in better environment.
