FAISALABAD: The Regional Tax Office (RTO) of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Additional Commissioner Asad Tahir Jappa has held a meeting at DCO office Toba Tek Singh on the facility of filing tax returns. All the heads of various departments were present in the meeting and were guided and requested to assure the filing of income tax returns 2019 of their departmental staff.
Addressing the meeting, Additional Commissioner Asad Tahir Jappa said that as part of its initiative to rope in large public and private sector organizations and companies in its ongoing drive for filing of Income Tax returns the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has approached the country cellular sector to facilitate the workforce employed there to become part of the tax system by filing their tax returns. We would love to spearhead a positive drive about the role of taxes in national development and how we can take the country forward he added.
In the meetings Asad Tahir Jappa stressed proper filing of Income Tax returns by the employees of large organisations and offered to organise training workshops for educating the employees of the benefits of being on the Active Taxpayer List (ATL).
He also informed the participants of the of return filing and how the employees needed to be educated in respect of discharging their tax obligations. The Additional Commissioner also called for educating the employees regarding the consequences of being a non-filers after the implementation of the differential tax scheme whereby non filers are charged a higher rate of tax on various transactions such as bank withdrawals purchase of cars and property etc.
The Regional Tax office team was assured that directives to all employees of the organisations visited regarding their return filing obligation would be circulated and training sessions conducted on the premises with the help of local tax authorities.
At the end of meeting answer question session was held and Cellular Employees questioned to the Additional Commissioner Asad tahir Jappa which were answered by him.
