FAISALABAD: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) released the consignments worth Rs14.47 million after receiving an evaded amount of duties and taxes. The said consignments were intercepted during the month of July 2019.
Sources told Customs Today that the consignments released by the Customs Intelligence consisted of foreign origin khiskhas coriander worth Rs9.11 million, foreign origin auto parts worth Rs 4.70 million.
The above mentioned consignments were impounded by the Customs Intelligence due to evasion of customs duty of Rs1.2 million, sales tax Rs3.37, income tax Rs2.4 million, federal excise duty (FED) worth Rs7440 fine of regulatory duty RD Rs7.95 million.
The tax evasion detected by the team comprised Superintendent Muhammad Tahir Iqbal, Intelligence Officer Mansoor Nasir, Sepoy Saeed Hayat, Liaqat Ali, Wali Muhammad Zeeshan, Ajmal Hussain and Muhammad Musaddiq Ahmad.
