FAISALABAD: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation impounded a Honda City car Model 2002 which was illegally imported into the country.
Sources told Customs Today, that the staff of Customs I&I intercepted a used foreign origin Honda City car bearing registration No LRL-2545 near CIA Police Station Sargodha Road. The car was reported as non-customs paid and non-duty paid one. The occupant of the vehicle introduced himself as Muhammad Zafar.
Sources said that on demand the occupant produced registration book but failed to produce documents showing the legal import of the vehicle or lawful purchase of the vehicle.
The sources said that Honda City car was physically checked as which particulars included as make and model Honda City car 2002 chassis no GD8-1002169 engine no LI5A-4002162. The car color is black while it has also been installed CD player and back view camera the sources added.
The official sources said that the vehicle was intercepted on the information of deputy director. The operation as conducted under the supervision of Superintendent Muhammad Tahir Iqbal, Intelligence Officer Mansoor Nasir Irshad Ali, Muhammad Nasrullah and other inspectors were also part of the raiding team.
The customs authorities have registered a case and started further investigations in this case under the Customs Act 1969.
