FAISALABAD: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation seized smuggled goods worth Rs34million involving duty and taxes of Rs02.00million besides impounding offending vehicles worth Rs09.00million in different anti-smuggling activities during the third month of March of Fiscal Year 2017.
Officials said the Customs Intelligence conducted operations on the instruction of Director Rabab Sikandir against the smuggled goods and vehicles in different areas of its jurisdiction including Sargodha, Khushab, Sara-e-Mohajir and Faisalabad. The directorate received higher customs duty than the previous months of the fiscal year due to impressive performance of the Faisalabad Customs. Customs Intelligence Faisalabad is combating the smuggling in its region by showing zero tolerance.
The team confiscated smuggled goods including F/O tyres ( 20-Nos ) worth Rs725000 made in China, Mixture of low grade lubricating oil and kerosene (15000-Ltrs) worth Rs01.1million, waterproofing membrane double ply with aluminum coating Rs01.00million, aluminum foil packing of cigarette (6080-kgs), Ground nutshell of different brands (21945-kgs) Rs 02.2million, Mazda mini truck No: TKY-355 worth Rs02.5, cigarettes Pin Light, small cardamom, F/O glasses and F/O solar worth Rs02.4million, F/O Hino Cabin and other goods worth Rs07.5million and mixture of low grade oil and kerosene (10000-Ltrs) worth Rs750000 after the accused could not produce documents regarding the legal import of the items.
The seizures cases have been referred to the customs adjudication for further legal actions.
