FAISALABAD: The Collectorate of Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Saima Ayaz has issued a show cause notice with reference to a seizure case no: 13/2018 to the owner of non-duty paid auto parts.
Sources told Customs Today, that the deputy collector has directed the respondent to furnish the documentary evidence if any and present the oral arguments to substantiate respective position or claim. In case a party does not appear on the date fixed for hearing then the case will be decided after hearing the party present in the court.
It has been reported by the Directorate General of Customs that on a tip off the staff of the anti-smuggling signaled a trailer loaded with non-duty paid smuggled auto-parts to stop and asked the driver to show documents but the owner defied. No import and auction documents could be produced in terms of recovered auto parts.
So collector adjudication has issued a show cause notice to the owner of the items as to why the vehicle should not be impounded and why penal action should not be taken against him under Section 156 (1) (89) of the Customs Act 1969.
