KARACHI: The Provincial Excise Intelligence Office of the Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Sindh recovered fine quality of heroin powder worth Rs 6.5 million, being transported to various areas of the city in a private car in Tariq Road area.
A First Information Report (FIR) No. 08/2015 Under Section 6/9 C, CNS Act 1997 has been registered against Syed Shahbaz Raza son of Syed Muhammad Shah.
According to the details, Assistant Excise and Taxation Officer (AETO) Sohail Abbas Khan received information from some sources that a huge quantity of heroin would be transported to various areas of the city late in the night in a private car bearing No ABG-539.
In pursuance of the tip, Sohail Abbas Khan headed a team of excise intelligence officials and they started surveillance at Khalid Bin Waleed road near Noorani Kabab House, district East Karachi and intercepted a private car and recovered 3 kilograms of heroin powder. The arrested accused has been produced before the CNS Court for physical remand.
The sources said the accused had made confessions and more raids would be undertaken to bust a gang of narcotics dealers.
