MULTAN: Excise and Taxation Multan has impounded 175 vehicles during the six days in general hold up operation in the various parts of the City.
The Excise and Taxation Department Multan Motor Registering Branch during its special campaign launched on the directive of Director Excise and Taxation Jaam Siraaj Ahmad has started a crackdown against all the vehicles which did not paid token money or registration fee yet.
E & T Motor Branch impounded 175 vehicles and motorcycles during general hold up operation launched against token tax defaulters and without registration vehicles in the city under the supervision of ETO Azhar Khurshid Khan. As many as 145 vehicles were also challaned by the staff of Motor Branch. The operation was launched in Shujabad, Bastimalok, Bosan Road and Mumtazabad.
Most of the impounded vehicles’ owners had defaulted on payment of life time token tax, token tax while others did not have proper registration documents.
As many as 478 vehicles and motorcycles were checked during the operation. The vehicles running on city roads with cancelled registration numbers were also impounded.
There were 17 vehicles impounded in the charge of applied for registration during. Excise and Taxation Department Multan has recovered the revenue of Rs 1.056 million during the six day general hold up operation of vehicles in the city.
Excise officer Azhar Khurshid Khan told Customs Today that the people are so smart that they are not taking out their applied for registration and short of token taxes due to general hold up in the city.
