DUBAI: Director of Dubai Customs visited to Hamdan bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) to discussed the Government Excellence Program which is carried out at the HBMSU premises.
The Director of Dubai Customs met with Dr Ahmed Al Nuseirat, General Coordinator of Dubai Government Excellence Program, Hazza Al Nuaimi, Senior Manager of Excellence Initiatives at the DGEP, and other DGEP officials. They discussed the program’s criteria to ensure that applicants meet the eligibility standards to qualify for the award. They also elaborated on the role the DGEP has assumed as a catalyst for government excellence since it was launched in 1997 by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Accompanied by Juma Al Ghaith, Executive Director of Customs Development Division, Buti Al Jumeiri, Executive Director of HR, Finance and Administration Division, Abdullah Al Khaja, Executive Director of Customer Management Division, Saeed Al Tayer, Acting Executive Director of Policies & Legislation Division, Abdul Salam Kazim, Director of Strategy & Corporate Excellence, and Edris Behzad, Director of Client Management Department, Musabih met with DGEP assessment committees to get first-hand information on the assessment mechanism. Dubai Customs’ senior officials toured the assessment halls and had a close look on the cutting-edge setups, developed to accommodate the processes for the initial assessment of applications submitted by government departments.
Musabih lauded the newly-launched electronic assessment system, allowing nomination applications to be submitted electronically. He pointed out that the Dubai Government Excellence Program is the first integrated program for excellence in the world, launched 18 years ago. It has since transformed the way the government delivered its services in Dubai.
“Dubai Customs applied for all award categories in the upcoming edition of the DGEP. Through transforming into a smart government and delivering top-notch services, we strive to be the leading government department in the emirate in various fields,” H.E. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih added.
