DUBAI: Dubai Customs Passenger Operations Department has donated Dh250,000 worth in unclaimed items to two charities.
The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charity and Humanitarian Establishment received more than 18,780 items of unclaimed clothes, bags, women’s accessories and stationary, while the Dubai Charity Association received 300 wheelchairs and baby strollers, Dubai Customs said.
Ahmed bin Lahej, director of the department, expressed appreciation for humanitarian foundations’ efforts and said Dubai Customs’ policy of giving away unclaimed items reflects its sincere gratitude to the community.
The directors of the Dubai International Airport terminals and Al Maktoum Airport as well as representatives from the charities attended an event for the donation.
