DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Collectorate of Customs Anti-Smuggling Unit (ASU) Dera Ismail Khan has recovered smuggled foreign origin almonds and red raisin along with offending vehicle worth Rs2.62 million.
According to details told by Deputy Collector Mehmood Khattak that in pursuance of information provided by Additional Deputy Collector Muhammad Khayal the ASU made tight vigilance at the road and intercepted the vehicle.
The deputy collector informed that anti-smuggling squad intercepted Toyota Hilux Pickup bearing registration NoC-4624, the squad recovered 950 kilograms of foreign origin almonds with shell, 240 kilograms red raisin 240.
He further informed that the total value of seized goods estimated Rs.1.12 million along with Toyota Helix pick up which is intercepted and seized under section of 157 of the customs act 1969 whereas the total value of seizure is around Rs2.62 million approximately.
Khattak told that the case has been registered while further investigation are underway, he added that Additional Collector Kohat Muhammad Khayal made appreciation call to the DI Khan Customs squad. The staff who conducted said seizure included Imtiaz Afridi Superintendent, Zia ur Rehman, Inspector along with Sepoys Rustam, Ziauddin, Fida and Ahmad Shah.
