Customs Valuation has fixed the valuation of fax/facismile machines as importers stated that these machines are dying product but Customs found that some traders were importing these machines on heavily under invoiced value.
Directorate General of Customs Valuation fixed the prices of fax machines with multi-function capability are in the range of $235/Unit to $450/unit depending upon their function ,make model and brand the price of fax machine with printer and scanner was comparatively costlier than fax machine with printer only.
Now Directorate General of Valuation reviewed the import data of past clearances of subject items, which revealed that very small quantity of fax/facismile machines had been imported into Pakistan during fiscal year 2018-19 and therefore did not have any significant impact on import revenue.
Therefore the Directorate General is of the view that the valuation ruling on fax/facismile machines should be rescinded and all the Collectorate should assess the said items as per the provision of Section 25 of the Customs Act 1969.
