ISLAMABAD: Directorate General Investigation and Intelligence, Customs has developed advanced strategies to overcome the menace of smuggling in the country during current fiscal year 2015-16.
As per details, Customs Intelligence called directors’ conference which was headed by Director General Customs Intelligence, Lutfullah Virk here at headquarters in Islamabad. Virk outlined various measures to curb smuggling.
All directors of the country participated in the conference and presented their regional performance reports before the director general. The strategies which were practiced in last fiscal year 2014-15 to counter the smuggling in the regions were also discussed.
Besides, the suggestions for improving the anti-smuggling activities were also discussed in the meeting.
Sources said that Directorate of Customs Intelligence of Karachi, Quetta and Peshawar were declared sensitive zones in the conference.
