KARACHI: DG Ports & Shipping Abdul Malik Ghouri would chair the third meeting to help resolve the issue pertaining to delayed grounding of containers early next month.

It may be mentioned that DG Ghouri, who assumed responsibilities of his office a few months ago, called the meetings with the on-dock terminator operators on the complaint of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
The KCCI had asked DG Ghouri to take notice of persistent delayed for grounding issue which is costing importers anywhere from $ 60-120 per day in container detention charge by the shipping companies and as much as Rs 2,000-4,000 a day demurrage charge by port operators for no fault of their own.
