DC Adjudication Moeed Kanju issues show cause notice to suspect in HSD smuggling case

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Abdul Mueed Kanju issued show cause notice to owner of non-duty paid 1800 litres of High Speed Diesel along with vehicle seized by Customs Intelligence and Investigation.

According to the details, Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation-FBR Field Intelligence Unit, Dera Ghazi Khan has seized 1800 litres of foreign origin smuggled Iranian HSD on the credible information. Said HSD oil was seized with the assistance of Baluchistan Military Police (BMP) near Rakhi Gorge District Dera Ghazi Khan.

Filed Intelligence Unit of Dera Ghazi Khan and Baluchistan Military Police conducted thorough examination of suspected Bed Ford truck bearing registration number of E-5355 which led to the recovery of almost 1800 liters of High Speed Diesel. High Speed Diesel was concealed in extra tanks attached beneath the truck.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation field staff took custody of seized HSD and truck for further proceedings after framing seizure report under Customs act 1969.

Deputy Collector Customs Adjudication Abdul Mueed Kanju issued show-cause notice to owner Maqbool Ahmad resident of Chah Nanoo Wala Kot Addu for violation of section 168, 2(s), 16 and 18 of the Customs act 1969 along with section 156 with section 3 (1) 3 of the imports and exports (control) act 1969 with SRO 566(I)/2005 .Customs Adjudication directed him to submit reply of notice within 10 days for further proceedings.
