LAHORE: The Lahore Transport Company (LTC) has reduced the urban public transport fares to about 11 percent after recent reduction in CNG prices.
LTC has reduced the intra city fares of air-conditioned CNG buses on various urban routes from Rs 3 to Rs 5 with respect to the distance. In accordance with the notification, first stage (1 to 4km) would be charged Rs 15, second stage (4 to 8km) Rs 20, third stage (8 to 14km) Rs 25, fourth stage (14 to 22km) Rs 30 rupees while in the fifth stage (22km and above), Rs 35 would be charged from the commuters.
LTC Chief Executive Officer Khawaja Haider Latif said that the curtailment in transport fares is applicable from Wednesday onwards to give special relief to the people, and assured that LTC would carry on its mission to provide efficient, safe and economical transport facilities to the public.
He directed the enforcement staff to proceed against those public service vehicles who are found guilty of overcharging so that people could not face any problems rather could avail benefit owing to the reduction in CNG prices.
Moreover, people could register their complaints about overcharging at LTC complaint cell number (042-111-582-111) as well as on mobile complaint number (0331-4440-582).
