KARACHI: Customs Preventive Service Club organised a friendly hockey match between International XI and Customs XI, at Customs Preventive Service Club & Sports Complex situated in Federal B Area, on the occasion of 66th Independence Day.
Gul Faraz Ahmed Khan, President Sindh Hockey Association and General Secretary Customs Preventive Aurangzeb Khan were chief guests on the occasion, while the match was organised by Secretary Customs Preventive Service Club Kamil Hasan.
The International Hockey Team was led by Muhammad Ali, an international hockey player while the Customs Hockey Team was led by its Captain Asad Qureshi.
The match was supervised by Tassaduq Jaffery and Muhammad Arshad of Sindh Police while Ajmal Pasha, Sagheer Hussain and Azeem Khan acted as jury members in the match.
Customs XI won the match by 4-3 and the chief guests distributed prizes among the winner and runner-up teams.
Earlier, Pakistan Customs Junior (Green) defeated Pakistan Customs (Pink) by 3-2.
Azeem Khan (Joint Secretary Karachi Hockey Association), Mussarat Hussain (Ex-Coach Habib Bank Limited), Zahid Shahab (President Pakistan Institute of Hockey), Tariq Khan (Joint Secretary Sindh Junior Hockey), Sagheer Hussain (Coach Pakistan Junior Academy) and others were also present on the occasion.
A large number of disciplined spectators came to enjoy the friendly hockey match between International XI and Customs XI.
The Customs officials were of the view that Pakistan Customs by organising such a well-managed friendly hockey match has retained its tradition since 1916.
The spectators congratulated Chief Collector MCC Preventive (Enforcement) Muhammad Yahya, Collector Preventive Fazal Khan Yazdani, Secretary Customs Preventive Service Club, Kamil Hassan and others for organising such a disciplined hockey match on the occasion of Independence Day.
