ISLAMABAD: Customs Today prediction comes true as Syed Muhammad Tariq Huda, a BS-21 officer of Pakistan Customs Service, on repatriation to FBR (HQ), is transferred and posted as Member (Customs-Operations), Federal Board of Revenue (HQ), Islamabad, with immediate effect and until further orders. Prime Minister Imran Khan posted an honest and capable officer Tariq Huda as Member Customs (Operations) which proves that he is more than serious about performance of tax machinery and customs department. PM Imran Khan has set his standard very high this time about giving this very crucial task to Tariq Huda.

Secretary (Mgt Customs-II) issued notification of his appointment as FBR Member Customs (Operations) on 18 May, 2020.
Sources said that the Establishment Division transferred Tariq Huda to FBR from Ministry of Commerce, and then FBR issued the notification of his appointment as Member Customs (Operations).
Tariq Huda is a Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) officer having vast experience of both Appraisement and Enforcement. During his tenure as Collector MCC Preventive Karachi, Huda introduced several reforms and made significant achievements against smuggling.
An official said appointment of Tariq Huda as Member Customs (Operations) would give a boost to the ongoing anti-smuggling drive.
