LAHORE: Pakistan Customs Preventive failed to provide services at Allama Iqbal International Airport on Wednesday from 8am to 4pm due to long breakdown of electricity. Customs Preventive was unable to enter data of import and export. All importers, exporters, and customs staff waited for whole day to start their work and to proceed necessary actions on import and export but electricity failure damaged the system badly.
On other hand on Wednesday the Customs officials have confiscated as many as eight alcohol bottles and number of mobile phones from passengers travelling via different flights during raid at Allama Iqbal International Airport during different operations. Sources told that the officers conducted operations in several flights coming from different countries.
Customs Preventive team allowed all passengers to go after confiscation of alcohol bottles. It is common practice that passengers coming from European countries carry bottles of alcohol with them but many times they leave alcohol bottles in premises of airport to avoid arrest.
