FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation seized illegally imported black tea weighing 5,937 kilogram.
Following a tip-off, customs team including Superintendent Muhammad Tahir, Inspector Mansoor khan and Sepoy Mukhtar Ahmed intercepted a truck bearing registration number TKZ-597 near Jhang Road, Faisalabad loaded with Kenyan origin black tea of various brands.
The officials asked the driver to show the legal documents against the said consignment but he failed to do so on which the 80 bags of black tea weighing 5,937 kg were taken into custody
While in another operation, customs confiscated smuggled solar energy panels in Faisalabad worth Rs 1.5 million, besides impounding a truck worth Rs 500,000.
