PESHAWAR: Collectorate of Customs Preventive Collector Asif Saeed Khan Lughmani lauded the role of Customs Preventive staff deputed at Torkham Customs station for seizing 1 kilogram and twenty six gram gold platinum from a passenger.
Sources told Customs Today, Customs Preventive staff deputed at Customs Station Torkham is performing duty at most sensitive border with Afghanistan. The local villagers cross the border several times a day apart from passage of trade vehicles.
The Customs Preventive Inspector along with some sepoys intercepted one passenger and recovered gold platinum. The passenger was coming from Afghanistan.
The sources informed that Inspector Rehmat Ali was performing duty along other Customs staff when a passenger arrived from Afghanistan. The passenger was found containing undeclared gold upon physical search.
The Customs officials booked FIR against the accused smuggler while case forwarded to the customs tribunal at Customs House Peshawar.
