ISLAMABAD: Model Customs Collectorate Preventive Islamabad has impounded three non-duty paid vehicles worth Rs 8 million during road checking.
Deputy Director MCC Preventive, Yawar Nawaz told Customs Today that during the road checking, the customs officials impounded three vehicles including two Toyota Corolla cars and a Shahzor Mazda as their owners could not produce any documents showing the payment of duty/taxes. The value of the vehicles was estimated at Rs 8 million.
The accused owners of the vehicles have also been arrested under the prevailing customs laws.
Nawaz added that, “We are taking effective measures against the smuggling in the region and in this regard checkpoints have been established.”
