PESHAWAR: The Investigation and Intelligence officials of the Customs Peshawar has conducted a raid on a godown and impounded 60 sacks of black tea on Saturday at Peshawar.
The raid was executed at the Pahari Pura area in Peshawar after a tip-off was received by the Director Intelligence and Investigation Customs-FBR. The Director Intelligence and Investigation immediately constituted a team led by Inspector Abdur Rehman.
The raiding team reached the designated godown and conducted a thorough search of it which led to the recovery of the tea. The owner of the tea was asked to show the legal documents of the item but he failed to do so.
The Intelligence and Investigation officials seized the Non-Duty-Paid black tea and registered an FIR against the owner. The item was being smuggled from China. Timely action underlay the confiscation of tea and arrest of the smuggler.
